«PUNCTUATION MARKS»

Punctuation marks shape the texts that include them. By convention we learn to accept them and internalize their function without questioning their role. They mark pauses, organize, avoid possible ambiguities in the meaning of the message, highlight the character of certain fragments, point out the omission of part of the statement, etc…

We use them so much and all the time that when we see them, our mind automatically carries out the commands they represent.

In my series «Punctuation Marks» I explore how these signs affect our reading of abstraction.

«SIGNOS ORTOGRAFICOS»

Los signos ortográficos afectan los textos que acompañan. Por convención aprendemos a aceptarlos e interiorizar su función sin cuestionar su rol. Marcan pausas, organizan, evitan posibles ambigüedades en el sentido del mensaje, resaltan el carácter de determinados fragmentos, señalan la omisión de parte del enunciado, etc …

Los usamos tanto y todo el tiempo que cuando los vemos, nuestra mente ejecuta automáticamente los comandos que representan.
